If you’re feeling achy and out of shape in the post-Christmas period, now is a really good time to re-set your health and flexibility with yoga.
Whether you’re a first-timer or you’ve done yoga before, joining my Beginners’ Yoga Course is the perfect way to get yourself back in shape and reconnect with your body and mind.
“But shouldn’t I go for something more hardcore?”
Heading down to the gym, lifting weights or taking up a demanding high-energy exercise class can of course be excellent routes to improving your fitness. But many people find they can’t stick at an intense workout regime. Some get sports injuries due to taking on too much too soon.
Join my Zoom yoga classes and you just show up with your mat and follow my instruction and guidance, all in the comfort of your own living room. No need for fancy equipment. No need to push yourself harder than your body can cope with.
Gradually, week on week, your fitness, posture and flexibility will improve, and you’ll be amazed to discover how much progress you can make.
Some women have been attending my classes for years and stay fit and well thanks to the wonders of yoga.
“But yoga’s just a load of stretching, isn’t it?”
No, it’s way more than that. Yoga has a multitude of proven benefits:
🔸 Better strength and flexibility
🔸 Eases back pain
🔸 Relieves stiffness and persistent aches and pains
🔸 Improves your posture and balance
🔸 Better cardio and circulatory health
🔸 Increases your energy and vitality
🔸 Reduces anxiety and stress and boosts your mood
🔸 Boosts wellbeing and immune system
🔸 Helps you relax and sleep better
🔸 Makes you feel better about yourself
In just a couple of hours a week you can gain all these benefits – all from the comfort of your own home.
"But will I be able to do it?"
With so many benefits it’s hard to say no to making yoga part of our lives. But maybe you’ve been put off at the thought of yoga not being right for you?
Here are some common worries of people before they try yoga:
🔸 I’m too inflexible
🔸 I’ve never been able to touch my toes
🔸 I’m the wrong shape
🔸 I’m too old
🔸 I’ll be the only one who won’t know what they’re doing
If any of these ring true, you are my perfect client. It is for you that I run my complete beginners’ yoga course.
“How does the 8-hour Yoga Beginners’ Course work?”
I run regular 8-hour yoga beginners’ courses (usually spread over 4 weeks) – check my website yoga beginners course for details on when my next course is commencing.
I only take a maximum of six people per yoga course as I like to provide very focused, personal teaching, where everyone gets 1-2-1 attention.
Aimed specifically at women who feel doubtful about starting yoga later in life, I keep the classes small, allowing ample individual attention for each student. We move slowly, and I provide options to modify poses based on your ability.
🔸 Designed to make your yoga journey accessible and convenient, it’s held live on Zoom, from the comfort of your own home.
🔸 Start your day with a yoga session before you begin your working day.
🔸 No need to rush to a physical class, thus eliminating the stress of catching a bus or finding a parking space.
🔸 By starting your day with breath work, stretches and balance, you’ll set yourself up for a positive day.
Most importantly, we cultivate an atmosphere of support and community between members. You’ll see progress over time and realise “I can do this!”
My motto to all new students is “Do what you can, rest when you can’t and take inspiration from those around you”.
“What happens once the Beginners’ Course finishes?”
I also run ladies yoga and wellness retreats that I co-host with the fabulous It’s easy to transition to my regular beginners’ continuation classes, held on Tuesday & Thursday mornings 8-9am, or my beginners’ yoga flow on Tuesday evenings 7-8pm. In fact, 90% of my regular students started out on my yoga Beginners’ Course.
“I saw Vicki B’s beginners’ course and thought I'd give it a go. I started yoga due to a bad back and stiffness – and it has worked wonders. It has definitely ‘evened me up’ both sides - well almost (LOL) and keeps my strength up.I'm still enjoying it over five years later” Bev
Many of my students have moved straight into my longer 1.5-hour classes and get the opportunity to learn more challenging poses like headstand and hand balancing postures.
“I had for some time suffered from a weak back and neck – so joined Vicki’s yoga beginners course to improve my overall flexibility and strength. I then joined the regular classes with some trepidation. I need not have been concerned, everyone was welcoming and supportive. I have achieved what I would otherwise have thought unachievable!” Gwynne
“I reluctantly joined Vicki’s beginners course, thinking I should avoid getting stiff in my old age, my hip was beginning to bother me. I am so pleased I did. After just a few weeks my hip problem was gone and I could really feel the benefit. “Not being any good, like me, is fine - improvement happens quickly. I’d never have thought I’d be doing headstands!” Debbie.
