Yoga Classes

I was first introduced to yoga over 25 years ago. Over the years, work and family demands often came in the way of my being able to be as disciplined with my practice as I would have wished. However, in 2012 I was hit by a car and suffered a major trauma to my left foot. After critical surgery during which my foot was rebuilt and then further surgery to remove the metalwork, my foot repaired - but I required serious rehabilitation to learn to walk, run and get my foot and ankle flexible again.

Yoga brought me back to myself. By gradually building my flexibility and strength back up, Yoga has now become a major part of my life. It has truly breathed new life back into me and has changed me as a person. My foot may never be as strong and flexible and balances on the left are more challenging but I love this comparison and accept it, as it is.

When people say they don't think they are fit enough/strong enough/flexible enough/young enough/male or female enough... I say, just start, be kind to yourself and you will see your body change, your mind calm and every time you step on your mat you will see a different you.

I have completed the Yoga Alliance 200hr training through Om Yoga London with Mano and a 26hr Embodied Anatomy & Physiology Applied to Yoga with Ana Marcela Wakeman. I am fully insured to teach over 18s.

Since qualifying to become a Yoga teacher I have discovered that I really love to teach. I enjoy seeing my students improve and watching them start to acknowledge the changes in their body and mind whilst practising in class. There is nothing more rewarding than a student saying:

"I love my yoga classes, I think of nothing else other than what I am doing"

"It's amazing how hot I get just practising the breathing at the start of the class"

"I never thought I would be able to do that"

I love to start with complete beginners. Those who ask the questions;

  • I never thought yoga was for me

  • I thought I was too young/too old

  • I thought it was only for women (yes I do teach men and they find it equally challenging and rewarding)

  • I'm a runner/cyclist, I thought it wouldn't burn
as many calories (my classes are demanding,
you will sweat, you will be challenged and yoga is definitely the perfect partner for thee sports)

By working hard, coming to class regularly (twice a week if possible) or by practising at home my students can really embrace and benefit from their yoga.

I love introducing the benefits of Yoga to complete beginners

My joy in teaching is seeing my students improve and watching them start to acknowledge the changes in their body and mind whilst practising in class. There is nothing more rewarding than a student saying:

“I love my yoga classes, I think of nothing else other than what I am doing”

“It’s amazing how hot I get just practising the breathing at the start of the class”

“I never thought I would be able to do that”

The rewards of teaching are numerous. It is not only my students who grow each week, but me too by watching and enjoying all my students’ journeys.

If you think that yoga would be good for you - but keep putting off starting - perhaps asking the following questions.. then you will be in safe hands starting with me in my Yoga Beginners Course.

  • I never thought yoga was for me

  • I thought I was too young/too old

  • I thought it was only for women (yes I do teach men and they find it equally challenging and rewarding)

  • I’m a runner/cyclist, I thought it wouldn’t burn as many calories (my classes are demanding, you will sweat, you will be challenged and Yoga is definitely the perfect partner for these sports).

Classes, courses and retreats

My classes and beginners courses are all run live on Zoom and are aimed at complete Beginners, Beginners-Plus, through to Intermediate. They are friendly classes with guidance and encouragement – as the classes are mixed, poses can be modified, so you can work to your own ability.

The classes are intense, hot and sweaty, Vinyasa-style flow yoga with lots of balancing and stretching.

All classes commence with Pranayama (breathing exercises) & finish with guided Savasana (relaxation).

From the start, my students start to build their strength, stamina and flexibility to come to headstand, shoulderstand and crow.

In addition, I run ladies-only weekend and week-long retreats in-person.
